A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM:  Inspired by classical paintings, I wanted to create a set that felt soft and dreamlike -- using purples, pinks, blues, and grays rather than greens. The woods-side of the set was meant to be an interactive playground, with rock-like levels, many different types of foliage, and locations created through the movement of the units. On the other side, Athens had a lack of interactive pieces and movement; it's a place where the law prevents freedom and play for the characters.

Reviews:

The large stage at The Edge Theater on Broadway is used to full advantage, with Marcus Klein's scenic design and Esau Andaleon's stage management working seamlessly to create a magical, fluid environment. -Around The Town Chicago

Scenic Designer Marcus Klein effectively combined simplicity with actuation. Together, Light Designer Laura J. Wiley, Technical Director Line Bower, and Sound Designer Hannah Foerschler collaborated to make a truly magical Fairyland Forest. -Buzz Center Stage
